The Trip Back Home

 

The trip back home from my sister-in-law's hometown was quite entertaining. I enjoyed the beautiful scenery along the way. Almost everything about their town is perfect. I suppose it is the main reason why a lot of tourists visit their hometown. Their government had really invested in beautifying their town. Lovely flowers and trees adorn their streets. Decorative light posts are also lined up along the streets. The landscape are also well-trimmed. In addition, their street signs seem to be brand new. 

I can say that their hometown is the cleanest and the most organized hometown I have ever seen. No smoking signs are found in almost every corner of the street. This reminds me of how our government is working on making our hometown smoke free as well.  I have also noticed that their banners are also well organized. You do not see them anywhere but hanging on the pole banner hardware which are attached to every decorative light posts. The pole banner hardware they are using are no ordinary ones. A Beautiful City For Everyone

Majority of us are please with the outcome of the Mayor's beautification project. We are seeing a lot of tourists walking around downtown and enjoying the view of the new tourist attraction of the city. Tourist attractions includes the health parks and heritage sites. This is good news to all of us because this means livelihood and job opportunities to everyone. Several commercial building infrastructures are also built on a once barren land. We are envisioning a progressive and beautiful city which all of us can be proud of.

Family Business

 

After several days of operation, my uncle's bakeshop seems to be doing really well. Their delicious bread and pastries are the talk of town. They are always freshly baked. I suppose nobody could resist those warm loaves of bread and sweet delicacies since they are not only homemade, my uncle does the baking himself as well. His son and three daughters on the other hand serve as his assistants. While my aunt handles the selling and marketing. At first, we all think that my cousins will quit after one day or hard work. I am glad we are all wrong. The kids did really well without complains. They are even proud that their parents gave them responsibility.

My aunt's warm and friendly personality have been one of the reasons why they never run out of customers. She made sure that everyone who visits the bakeshop feel welcome and accommodated so they will surely come back. All customers want to feel that way. Aside from this, Aunt also make sure that the restaurant is always clean, organized and beautiful. City Beautification Towards Progress

Tourism plays an important role in every nation. It opens the door towards progress. As we all know if there are tourists in the country, job opportunities and livelihoods come in. It is the main reason why our City Mayor have been seriously working on the beautification of the city in spite of the negative feedback he have been receiving from the media and rally troops or protesters. Since he was declared a Mayor he was able to improve the city in so many ways. One of them is the river esplanade which has been the main attraction of the city.

A lot of people visits this tourist spot because it is not only beautiful it is also clean. The management of the river esplanade has strictly implemented a clean air policy. No smoking signs are everywhere to remind everyone that smoking is strictly prohibited in the area. Signs to keep the place clean all the time are also everywhere. I suppose this is the reason why people keep coming back in this beautiful spot.

Aside from developing an esplanade for people who seek to unwind, enjoy a relaxing stroll, or exercise, the city mayor had also made a major renovation of the roads. Broken street lamps were changed to decorative street light posts. These decorative street light posts does not only brighten the city streets at night but they are also a beautiful decoration during the day. Unlike the broken lamps, these new decorative street light posts are efficient. These street lamps are especially designed for beautiful parks and residential areas for the rich and famous. Seeing these lamps brightening our streets really make a beautiful sight. I admit that I am not a big fan of the City Mayor but after witnessing all these beautiful changes he made in the city, I must say he deserves a pat on the back.

Breaking Away From Online Shopping

 

Shopping online offers convenience. All you need to do is log in to your laptop, desktop or smartphone to buy all the things you need from an online store. Then wait for your goods to be delivered at your doorstep. It does not only save you all the hassle of falling in line in the counter but also from the traffic and pollution as well. If you hate getting stuck in the traffic, this is the best solution for you too. It is a great way of saving gas as well.

However, no matter how easy and convenient online shopping is, there are really times that you want to do your shopping like most normal people-visit the store, falling in line to pay for your goods and carrying all your shopping bags to your car.  I do this at least once a month to check if there is anything on sale in the mall or the grocery store. Besides not every store in the mall has an online shop. It is quite hard to imagine to shop for fresh fish or meat online and have them delivered at your doorstep. It is a good thing that there is a newly established grocery store not far from my new home. I found out about it when I went jogging yesterday morning. Dreams Can Come True

According to Walt Disney, all dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them. Indeed! Making our dreams come true does not happen in a blink of an eye. We need to work for it. We need to put our 101% effort for the realization of our dreams. Several roadblocks are may be encountered along the way. But what is success without these roadblocks?

Keeping a positive attitude is what makes my Aunt and Uncle going. Just like any other businessmen, they have experienced major drawbacks which could have left them empty handed. However, their positive attitude towards life is commendable. They did not let these problems pull them back or make their life miserable. Instead, these problems only fueled them to do better and here they are now. They are back on their feet with their new bakeshop.

 

They just reopened their bakeshop yesterday with its new signage. They also made several changes in the interior and exterior design of their old bakeshop.
